Dr. Jacinthe Vallée-Ouimet completed her PhD in psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal in 2016. Her doctoral thesis focused on the social sensitivity of children with autism spectrum disorder. In addition, she obtained a specialized graduate diploma in behavioral intervention for children with pervasive developmental disorders.
In terms of research, she was involved in Dr. Julien Doyon’s laboratory at the Research Center of the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal on a project examining memory consolidation and reconsolidation. She then took part in a research project on hemispheric specialization in Dr. Philippe Peigneux’s UR2\NF laboratory at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Her doctoral studies were carried out under the supervision of Dr. Nathalie Poirier, psychologist, in the research laboratory focused on families of children with autism spectrum disorder.
Although she initially worked with children and adolescents in school settings and at the developmental clinic of the Centre hospitalier ambulatoire régional de Laval, she later developed an interest in working with adults. She has been working with this clientele for the past eight years within the public health network. She currently holds a position at the outpatient specialized services clinic at Hôpital Pierre-Janet, where she provides psychotherapy and personality assessment services. At Psychologues Consultants Y2, she offers personality assessment services.
