Rony Melinard is a counselling therapist who holds a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Saint Paul University, affiliated with the University of Ottawa. He is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). He also holds a specialization in the treatment of spiritual abuse.
His clinical practice is grounded in experience acquired across various settings. He began his career at the Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre at Saint Paul University, where he worked with clients facing a wide range of issues. He further deepened his practice within a Family Medicine Group (FMG) in Gatineau, collaborating in an interdisciplinary manner with other healthcare professionals. He then served as a clinical counsellor for an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), supporting both managers and employees in managing stress, workplace relationships, and organizational resilience.
He has also developed expertise in trans health, LGBTQIA2+ issues, trauma, personality disorders, and emotional regulation.
An innovator in his practice, he also incorporates Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT) — an immersive approach supported by the latest research — in the treatment of anxiety and other challenges.
With deep listening, an empathetic presence, and strong clinical rigor, he offers a safe and supportive space where words — or silence — can pave the way toward transformation. He is committed to supporting each individual in their journey toward well-being, with respect and compassion.
