Amélie (pronouns she/her) is a Counselling Therapist in Québec and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario. She is also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). With a solid academic background, including a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Université du Québec en Outaouais and a Master of Arts in Psychotherapy, Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University, she is also involved in the Eco-Visions research team.
In her therapeutic work, Amélie is committed to providing a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for her clients. Amélie is passionate about integrating nature, creative arts and spirituality/religion into the therapeutic journey, if this resonates with her clients. She believes that connecting with the natural world and exploring spiritual dimensions can play a vital role in empowering individuals through their journey of healing, recovery and growth. Furthermore, Amélie specializes in working with adults and elders from all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, religions and spiritualities. Her approach is holistic and integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based therapies including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Amélie also incorporates elements of mindfulness and somatic techniques to support clients in emotional regulation and trauma recovery. She is experienced in addressing a wide array of challenges, including (but not limited to) anxiety, interpersonal relationships issues, grief, burnout, stress, life transitions, self-esteem concerns and climate change-related anxiety. As her approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, Amélie would be honored to welcome and support you on your therapeutic journey.
Outside of therapy, Amélie embraces a slower pace, finding meaning in the little moments of everyday life. She enjoys spending time outdoors, whether paddleboarding with her dog on a peaceful river or relaxing at home with her loved ones. One of her favorite sayings is, "With each sunrise, we have the chance to begin again, one step at the time", a gentle reminder that growth, healing and renewal are possible every day.
