Biography

Dr. Claude Barraud, Ph. D. is an accomplished, award-winning (i.e., Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal), and passionate conflict management professional and consensus builder with 12+ years of cumulative (cumulated) experience in Government of Canada and private sector informal conflict resolution. With a natural ability to identify and remove hindrances that prevent people from success, Dr. Barraud fosters a healthy and secure environment in workplaces in order to enhance individuals' well-being, selfactualization, and performance.

Dr. Barraud is a multi-faceted professional, holding a Ph. D. in geology, a Master in Education (career counselling), and an accreditation in psychotherapy with l’Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ); Dr. Barraud is also a Certified Mediator with the Institut de médiation et d’arbitrage du Québec (IMAQ) and the ARD Institute of Canada.

His professional experience has seen him in a variety of roles over the years as a senior-level manager, negotiator, conflict resolution and prevention practitioner, crisis intervention clinician, and trauma psychotherapist, with specialty in the treatment of individuals affected by violent behaviour.

In addition, Dr. Barraud has facilitated numerous workshops dealing with mental health in the workplace, with special focus on adaptation to change and dealing with the aftermaths of downsizing. He has also successfully implemented re-entry plans for employees returning to work following a prolonged absence. To do so, Dr. Barraud advises and guides leaders on how to reduce the risk of disrupting the reintegration and recovery processes in the aftermath of a workplace disaster, crisis, or traumatic event.

Dr. Barraud's passion is to assist individuals in finding their life mission and realize their potential by exploring new, initially unimagined possibilities. He is fluently bilingual (English and French) and holds a security clearance with the Public Service of Canada at the Secret Level (Level II).
